The power of stories

I have been an aspiring fiction writer since the age of 8, which is the same as saying, I have been a writer since I could make out a sentence on the page. All my life I have made up stories, embroidered conversations in my mind and created a world of what-ifs. The act of creation has enriched my life.

I've been a journalist, so I believe I have a firm grip on the so-called real world. But I believe that telling stories gives a shape to what happens around us - to the good as well as the bad. So I began writing down my ideas and kept writing until I had a novel.
